Dear Dog Lovers
Sadly, a few weeks ago a ‘seeing eye’ dog died as a result of being harassed whilst walking near an ‘off lead’ park.  Consequently a vision impaired young man is bereft of his navigator and must now rely on other people to guide him.  He might have to wait years for another suitable dog to be available.  As a community, we had invested in the nurture and training of that ‘seeing eye’ dog only to have its working life cut short.

Did you know that it is your responsibility to keep your dog from distracting a vision impaired person’s guide dog?  Your dog must be under effective voice control when off leash so your dog should never be close to a working guide dog.

Guide dogs are welcome to visit Financial Care Services.
